At Löfbergs, coffee is produced for 12 million cups a day. But a healthy work environment is built in smaller, continuous doses. To capture employees’ everyday experiences, the company uses the digital HR tool Winningtemp.

Helena Eriksson is the Chief Human Resources Officer at Löfbergs, a family-owned company based in Värmland, Sweden. She’s been using Winningtemp in the organization, now 300 employees across eight countries, since the final phase of the pandemic.

“The tool has helped us combine gut feeling with real data. It gives us clear insights into what’s working in our work environment and what needs improvement,” she says.

Low threshold and anonymous responses

At the core of Winningtemp for Löfbergs are the regular pulse surveys. Every Thursday, six questions land in each employee’s inbox. Many respond using the app on their phone. Others, who don’t have a work phone, answer via one of the company’s computers.

“It has to be easy to respond. Sending out a short survey once a week keeps the threshold low.”

It’s also been important to clearly communicate that responses are anonymous.

“We noticed that this wasn’t always obvious to the person answering, so we’ve made sure to emphasize the anonymity.”

Every employee can view the temperature of both the entire company and their specific team, seeing how different parameters change week to week. Helena Eriksson also stresses the importance of managers following up and responding to comments.

“If an employee takes the time to write a comment, they should expect to receive feedback.”

Praise builds culture

Another key feature encouraged by the HR team is the ability to give praise through the tool.

“And we want people to add a comment about what the person did that was especially great.”

Winningtemp also offers tools to detect bullying, harassment, or other forms of inappropriate behavior. This is something Helena Eriksson finds very helpful.

“It helps us identify where interventions may be needed.”

But using Winningtemp isn’t just about spotting what’s not working. It’s just as much about recognizing what is working.

“Winningtemp helps us preserve what’s good. We encourage managers to talk about that too.”

A support tool during change

Organizational changes often bring some level of concern. Winningtemp can help track how changes are affecting employees over time.

“Red numbers don’t always indicate a problem. It might simply reflect that something is happening in the group that’s causing uncertainty,” Helena Eriksson explains.
“We monitor red numbers closely and support managers in identifying which areas are causing the most concern. If numbers are red during a transition, they need to turn green eventually.”

Winningtemp isn’t just another tool for Löfbergs. Helena Eriksson emphasizes the real, tangible value the data and metrics provide.

“It really helps us talk about the work environment. We can take action where it’s needed and at the same time highlight the positive examples we see across the organization.”
